A loss prevention specialist (also known as a store detective) is primarily responsible for ensuring that customers, staff, and delivery personnel, do not steal or destroy merchandize or company property on the premises. If you become a loss prevention specialist, you may work in a large department store, or you might find work as a freelance specialist advising stores on security matters.
